Fun Trip!

Featured Replies

HI guys,

Went out Saturday morning To Raystown lake. Had a pretty good trip. Couldn't get em to bite up shallow, Except one decent bass on a skinny dipper. (17in 2-2.5).  Any way, I was trying a dropshot around  bridge pillars and started to catch some nice fish. I landed three, all about 16-18 inches. Broke two off and lost three more during the fight, all in about an hour!  It was rocking pretty good considering the last few trips have been kinda slow!

I had pitch in close to the pillar, and the fish would hit on on the 8 -10 count. I caught one fish dropping it all the way down (21 count). After a while I was just stopping it @9 mississippi  and shaking it and getting bit. This leads to my question.

Like a dunce, I forgot my depth finder! I was wondering how deep would a 3/8oz dropshot get in 8 seconds? I was using a bass assassin fluke type lure, 3in long, and a 3/8 bell sinker on 8lb mono.

I am thinking it was like 10- 12 feet, but not real sure.

Thanks guys!

Jim
