T-Pod

Featured Replies

I bought a T-Pod which looks like a giant bobber and transfers a sonar signal to my Android phone via wifi.had it out a couple of time at the local pond. The thing weighs like 2.4 oz and about the size of a racket ball.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to cast it. I have an 8' mh ugly stick catfish rod that came with a 50 size reel. This setup is real ouckward to cast. So I'm trying to figure out how to get it out in the water. I'm thinking it might be better with a smaller reel. Any ideas?

I wouldn't buy a new reel just to cast it. I use 5000/6000 size reels on my surf rods (9ft). You should be able to bomb that sonar out there with that set up.

Are you having difficulty casting it, or does it just feel awkward doing so?

It cast okay, it's just awkward to cast which could be me. I have  an old 40 Pflueger Trion that I was thinking of trying just need to spool it up.

Maybe since it's so heavy it might be better to lob it rather than casting it like you normally would a lure

keep ur elbow tucked into ur side and pivot ur hips.  using ur shoulder/wrists in the wrong way can leave you beat up for awhile.
