Going to start pouring

I'm tired of paying out the arse for leadhead jigs with undersized hooks.  I go through a lot of them every year fishing the river (about all I use in the river is a 1/8 or 1/4 oz. jighead with a 3 or 4" grub).

Looking through my Netcraft catalog, they have the Do-It molds for a good price.

Now for the question.  The 1/8 oz. production mold says either 1 or 1/0 aberdeen jig hook.  I would rather use a 2/0.  Would that be out of the question?

Check out Do-Itmolds.com before you buy they have a weedless ball jig that uses 1/8, 3/16 ,and 1/4 sizes with a 3/o hook, should work with a 2/o as well. It seems like more of what you are looking for.  If not the mold you are getting should be able to be modified to accept a 2/0 hook.

I just got that 1/8th ounce ball jig mold and i think a 1/0 looks small in it and a 2/0 will probably work. if it doesnt you can always tweak the mold to make it work. :)

All kind of modifications can be done to a mold with a dremel.

what kind of bits do you use with the dremel to make modifications?

Mostly the Tungsten Carbide Cutters.  I use several different styles depending what I want to acomplish in modificaitons to the molds.  ie, flat end, ball, pointed, to name a few.

FWIW, Eagle Claw 570 2/0 aberdeens will fit in the Do-It 1/8 oz. molds.
