Todays Frankenbait

Featured Replies

I have a soft spot for baits that you modify and piece together.  Gets the creative juices going.

Today I caught a fish on a black/blue football jig with a junebug trailer.   The trailer, was a 9-inch Culprit Fat Max worm, of which I had cut about 3 inches off the body, and then put the remaining body/tail onto the jig.

Looks great while swimming, falling, and scootin across the bottom.  Kinda looks like a giant tadpole.

Sounds like a neat creation! I love doing this kind of stuff too.

I recently got a mold for pouring Fat Ikas (no skirt) and realized they make a nice generic body for attaching other parts to. I'll cut off tails and flaps from some of my spent baits and attach them to newly poured Ikas.

My favorite so far has been the Pit Boss Ika. Fat Pit Boss? Whatever you want to call it, it works.

Yes thats part of the fun of fishing.. franken-baiting lures

I do that too with spinnerbaits and plastics

After each creation.. well .. even more excited to get out on the water to try them out
