Featured Replies

Hello,

Was looking thru the Yammamoto site, and they mention:

"which holds it up on the new style straight shank punch hooks with the barb keeper. No more baits balled up at the hook bend! "

New one for me.

What, please, are:  "punch hooks" ?

What are:  "new style straight shank punch hooks with the barb keeper" ?

Popular, pros and cons, etc. ?

That's what a straight shank hook is and that black thing is a bait keeper.

I use straight shank hooks when punching because when you set the hook it really launches that hook into the bass's jaw because the hook gets turned 90 degrees when you use a Snell knot.

this is what I mean when I say it launches the hook into the bass's jaw, when you put pressure on the weight it makes the hook turn like this.
