Curado I Or Chronarch Ci4+

Featured Replies

As the title states, which one is the best bang for the buck. Is the Chronarch really worth the extra money, and if so, what does the Chronarch exel at better than the new curado. Thanks in advance!!

I have both and as good as the ci4 is it is not the best bang for buck compared to the curado i.

Is the ci4 the better performer? Yes it is and it should be given the price

Is it worth it though? Yes and no. I prefer my ci4 to the curado i, but the curado performs nearly as well for 90bucks less

Thank you, since you have owned both, is there anything in which the the Chronarch performs above and beyond the curado, for example throwing finess/light baits, etc

If I was looking on the range of the chronarch price it would be the.

In the range of the curado, I choose a lews tourney pro which you can find for much cheaper than msrp

I own both as well, and both are outstanding reels.  I do feel like I can hit tough targets better with the Ci4, but the Curado I is not far behind.  Since I fish a lot of docks, cables, and hard to reach places at Lake of the Ozarks, the Ci4 is worth the extra money to me.

Whether something is worth it is such a subject question, and they are both excellent reels. I always find my self going for the more expensive option when I can, since I know I will regret it otherwise.

Not sure about the Curado I, but the CI4 is one heck of a reel.

I think the ci4 works better with lighter baits...but not by much

I have both. On paper the CI4+ should throw light lures better. How much? well not sure as I haven't thrown light lures on either. I flushed and relube both reels bearings and throwing a hollow body frog surprisingly the Curado cast better on 50lb braid. Less back lash when I set it to throw max distance. As far as which one threw further I haven't tested it. Other than weight I like the Curado better. I tried light punching on both reels too and the Ci4+ just isn't the reel for that. I know people will say it's the carbon frame but it's more than that.

If you are considering bang for the buck, then it's pretty clear that the Curado is more bang for the buck than the Ci4+. I moved my Ci4+ to shakey head duty on a Medium rod with 20lb PP. I like it so far but the Curado for frogging and light punching is awesome.

I looked hard at both reels before buying...and went with the Ci4. I have not regretted the decision as it is my favorite reel now and I had to get a second one. If you can afford it I would go that route. Maybe you can find a deal and save a few bucks.

I own 3 ci4's and 2 Curado I's. The ci4 is definitely a nicer reel. If you're super tight on cash, the Curado will be good. If you can afford the Chronarch, do it. It's one heck of a nice reel.
