Tuckertown Reservoir Nc

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any luck on Tuckertown lately. I've found a lot of small fish on a lipless crankbait.

I've found none on a spinnerbait or shakey head.

What have y'all found and where at?

Fished a tournament there with a buddy of mine back this summer. Very tough bite.... The only place we found any bites was near the dam where there was a little current from them releasing water. It dropped the water temps down a bit on that side and we got about 3. The last tournament we fished there was won right in front of the launch ramp. It was the only limit caught and he didn't even have to crank his outboard the whole day just trolled over to the spot about 40 yards. Big ol shallow flat that run's through there.

The places that I usually find fish has been taken over by hydrilla(sp?). It's a stump field with a 12' drop that goes up to 4' or so,and I believe, that they are still there but I'm not schooled on fishing hydrilla.

Honestly I struggled there with only one fish. It's hard to run that lake with all the shallow areas and stumps and rocks. I couldn't ever get on a good pattern. And it was INVESTED with grass. I mean a TON when we were there.

I know that exact spot you are talking about and it's the only spot on the lake I've had any success on. If you speaking of one of the 7am-2pm tournaments they run there I probably can guess exactly who fished that spot and he usually beats everyone to it. One of the best spots on that entire lake when the fish are moving from shallow to deep water.
