Quantum Tour Kvd Casting Rods?

Featured Replies

Does anyone actually fish these or have they used them? It seems like the cranking ones are more popular then the casting models. Well I got a brand new one the other day from a friend for $40. It is a 6'6" M/H F and I think it is rated like 1/4-3/4. I fished it a little bit today and it seems decent I guess but I don't like the reel seat with the sorta double trigger. It was bother me fishing a bottom bait cause I full palm when I do that and it sits weird in my hand.

Sounds like you found yourself a great swimjig/ chatterbait rod to use around docks and bank lines!

I have to be honest. These rods have negative reviews on ***.com and when I've seen them they look flimsy and poorly assembled. Sorry KVD, I like you, but your rods and reels need work!

The reel seats on those are Fuji ACS reel seats, the general consensus is one of love and hate. I really like the Fuji ACS reel seats and on that rod it isn't bad, the worst thing that will happen is the red paint might chip but other than that is isn't a bad rod. There was a guy in our bass club that used to have a full arsenal of them and he didn't like KVD at all but his wife got him one for a Christmas present so he used it and loved the rod. The think with the reel seat seems to be that a lot of guys like to put 3 fingers in front of the trigger and for those who do that, almost all with dislike it but if you use only 2 fingers in front of the trigger it is actually nice.

I never use 2 fingers. It's always 3 or a full grip. If a bait has little drag or resistance I probably will full grip and use 3 fingers for baits that put some torque on the rod so I have better grip.
