Anyone Try The New Rapala Walking Minnow Yet?

Featured Replies

I am looking to place an order with TW and I have been intrigued by this lure ever since I first laid eyes on it.....I like the Idea of a Minnow Shaped Wake bait that can be fished over grass....Just not sure if it is worth the money or if I should just grab a new Ima Skimmer in a color I do not have. I am only allowing myself $25 to spend on lures or items I have never tried.

Thanks.

Just my speculation, but it looks like a subtle lure that would excel in shallow, clear, and calm water. You could probably get a similar presentation with an original floater.

I purchased one of these, it's got a pronounced side to side wobble, so not real suttle like to original floater. So as far as my opinion on it, it gives you a slinder wake bait but the same pronounced side to side wobble.

I purchased two but haven't thrown them much. I like the action and they're very nice baits. I'd recommend them.

I tried the Rapala Waking Minnow, Biovex Wake bait, and Arashi Wake Bait.

I like the Arashi a lot but not too impressed with the Rapala or Biovex.

Bc of this next year I am the Ima Skimmer and Ima Wake bait.

My thoughts exactly

I have two of the bx minnows and have thrown them a little bit with no bites. I bought them the same time as s bunch of arashi wakes and I've had a ton of fish on the arashis. The action of the arashi is so much better and it seems a little difficult to get the bx to wake consistently. It tends to dive part way through the retrieve. One thing I've learned with the arashis is that it is critical to be breaking the surface and making that V on the retrieve. I have a hard time doing that with the bx minnow. The arashis also cast much further.
