St Croix Spinning Rod Reccomendations

Featured Replies

I currently have a 68mxf ltb spinning rod which I use for shakey heads and senkos. I want to pick up another rod to use for shakey heads and drop shot. I'd like to have 2 rods which can be used for a combination of those 3. I've been looking at the ltb 610mlxf, 610mxf and 70mf. Anyone that's used these rods have any reccomendations they can provide?

I prefer the medium-light for those tactics. I love the 70MF and have a couple of the Elites, but the ML has a much better action for dropshots; plus they can handle shakyhead just fine.

Man o man lol

Once ya go LTB it is tough to go back lol

Being that you already have a MXF i would go with the 6'10 MLXF...that way way you can go more finesse should you want to

No experience with the rods mentioned, but just FYI if you decide in the next couple of days, you can go to Gander Mountain and get $50 off purchases of $250 or more, and another $50 rebate from St. Croix. $150 brand spanking new ain't bad for one of those.

That's why I need to make decision soon. Sounds like the the mlxf will be my best bet

I just got a st Croix avid x 7'0 M/F that im gonna use for shakey heads, wackey rigged senko's and weightless stuff and plan on getting the 7'0 ML for dropshots. haven't used the avid x yet but so far im really impressed

I have thrown dropshot, shakey, and t-rigged senkos on the 610MLXF. That rod can handle a lot.
