Airbrush Seals

Featured Replies

Well, like a beginner idiot I left my airbrush in a windex/water solution for about 5 days when I went deer hunting. Forgot I had left it in there. Now the brush is allowing paint to flow even when the trigger isnt pulled back (obviously a double action brush). Anyone ever experienced this? Is it just an O ring replacement or is the brush shot? Thanks.

What brand of brush are you using?

Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS. I ended up taking it all apart and putting it back together. It seems to be working better now. I guess maybe leaving it in there so long loosened some stuff up, or just gave it a really good cleaning. ;) Hopefully nothing is too wrong with it. If anyone has any ideas about what could have happened, let me know.

On another note, M and some of you other guys, here is a question. The brush I have now is only a .5mm tip. I'm wanting to get another with a smaller tip and a gravity feed. I have been looking at the Eclipse HP-CS or the HP-BS. Anyone ever used them or have any other recommendations?

I can't remember which brush has the bigger cup, but that's the brush I use all the time.   You will love how easy it is to clean and the fact you can shoot 1 drop of paint.

I had a problem with my HP-BCS 1 time and the o-ring that seats the needle has a small adjustment screw and I just had to tweak that a little.  I've never had that problem again, you have to mod. a small screw driver to get it to fit the screw.

I still use mine to shoot my pearl white base coat when I have several lures ready to paint.

You'll still use it, the better you get, the more you'll be able to do with that brush, trust me. I've seen two skulls that would fit inside a quarter painted with one ;) I've not tried it myself, but once I get moved, I plan to, if for nothing more than to prove to people that tossing money at painting won't make you better, practice will.
