fineese rod

Featured Replies

Want to build a rod for fishing hair jigs as light as 1/8 to 3/8 oz. I will be fishing these jigs in as much as 50 ft of water so the rod needs good back bone as well. I would like it to be a St. Croix. Any suggestion will help. Thanks to all.

My favorite St. Croix blank is the 5S70MF.  SCV blank that is 7'long medium action, with a fast tip.  The 4S70MF is also an awesome blank but in the SCIV model.  I saw they also have a "vertical jig" model in the SCIV blanks that is 6'3" and it is a medium action with an extra fast tip.  I think it is the 4S63MXF. I love all my St. Croix blanks, I don't think you can go wrong with what ever you choose.

I bought a 7' medium action spinning rod from St.Croix 3 years ago and it is still one of my favorite rods. Definatley a work-horse, can do anything with it.
