I was wondering if anyone could tell me the format for the draw in a BASS open event? Mainly what do they do if there are more boaters then non boaters and does that effect the entry fee or boat use?

I have worked two Opens and have no idea of how the boater/nonboater parings are worked out.

 

I do believe the computer will keep the nonboater numbers equal to or less than the boaters.

 

At the two tournaments I worked there was never a problem leaving a nonboater out.

 

I think BASS keeps three or four boats open just in case one or two of the boaters fail to show up or their motors have problems.
