Mlf Summit Selects Round 4 Muskogee Jacob Wheeler Fish Penalty?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I'm watching this tournament right now and about thirty minutes into in round two Jacob Wheeler pulls in a fish, swings up never even getting close to the carpet. While he's standing up with the fish in one hand trying to get the lure out of its mouth he drops something and says "Aaahh! I already know it!". And then the fish landing penalty banner pops up.

But he NEVER dropped the fish. I rewound it several times and I can't see what he dropped. It looks like a smaller fish. But he never dropped the bass.

Did anyone else see this? I don't have a clue why he got a fish landing penalty. Can he get that penalty for dropping something else? Or if the bass spits out a shad?

Here is a pic of whatever he dropped. I circled it. He still has the bass in his left hand. Maybe it was a shad or smaller bass.

Penalized for holding fish up against his body. I believe that was his lure falling to the floor.

Yep.  The fish flops a little and he loses his grip and it ends up against his body as he is trying to keep it from falling.

Yep, he cradled it against his body.

Oh okay. Thanks for the info! I've watched quite a few of these MLF tourneys and never knew that was a penalty.

I love that show. I wish the pros would talk more about conditions on the lake and lures they are using. Give us viewers more of an overview of the lake.
