Carolina rigging?

Featured Replies

What plastics do you all use for Carolina rigging during the summer? Centipedes? Lizards?

you should check out the general fishing forum.  At the top of the topics list there is a carolina rigging topic.  it is literally the most comprehensive info I've ever seen in one place concerning c-rigging. hope this helps!

Carolina rigging shouldntbe too confusing, as long as you know how to rig it up etc.

As for choosing your plastics, go with what you have confidence in, match the hatch of the forage, or get it close enough as far as colors and size.

This is a good technique for finding structure also.

Good Luck!

I throw 5 basic baits on my rig year round:

1. 6" Zoom Lizard in Gren Pumpkin or Pumkin Pepper (die tail chart).

2. Zoom Baby brush Hog (same colors)

3. Zoom trick worm in Watermelon or Green Pumpkin (clear water bait)

4. 4" Zoom French Fry in salt and pepper (shad imitation) or watermelon Pepper.

5. 10" Zoom Ole Monster Worm (Red Bug or junebug for deep Summer structure fishing.

Lizard, Trick Worm, and Brush Hog in Spring.

Other two are Summer baits.

in spring i almost always throw a 3x lizard.  the 3x material is a pain but the action is incredible and the slow float is awesome.  as the summer progresses i start using more subtle baits like centipedes and trick worms.

I haven't used many soft plastics yet that don't work on a C-Rig - - even non-typical baits like Flukes and Gitzits.  Also, don't overlook baits like hula-grubs - they tend to breathe and move even when they aren't being worked and they do very well on a rig.
