Super User Montanaro Posted January 30, 2015 Super User Posted January 30, 2015 Hey guys, I've never been in a club before and I've been invited to a meeting for a club tomorrow to meet the guys (15 or 20). They will be voting on my membership. What advice (be myself) can yall give me? I'm sure acting like I'm Ike would go over well. Quote
JLeon77 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Just be honest about your skill level and be yourself. You will probably meet some guys that will end up being your good friends. If you aren't honest they will know it when you are out in the boat with them. Once you are in the boat...learn as much as you can from the guys who have been there. Oh, and have fun! Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 31, 2015 Super User Posted January 31, 2015 Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut. You will learn a lot from the members. And you will make new friends plus meet people in the West Virginia bass fishing industry. Being a part of a fishing club is a great experience. Quote
travis23 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Are you joining a BASS or FLW club? If BASS, which club are you joining? I was so nervous my first meeting. I literally had no one to talk to or ask questions about anything. I searched on the Internet and found some numbers and started making calls lol first few tournaments were awful. I felt like none liked me or they just didn't want to like me. All but 3 are old geezer lol now after a couple years I have some people who are there to help me and have my back. They always try and take care of me whether it be not taking any money or making sure I get my 5th fish. Be patient in the beginning. Give the guys time to get to know you, and socialize with everyone. Quote
