im a big fan of jigs but have very rarely fished hair jigs.  im planning on trying them for smallmouth this late fall and winter and was just curious if anyone has any tips on how to fish them or anything else that may help me.  my plan is to fish them essentially exactly like i fish a silicone skirted jig and to use a 1/4 oz jig with a small craw/chunk trailer.

Do a search for articles on this site. I wrote one last year called Hair Jigs: Cold Wate Gold or something like that. I generally fish hair jigs in the same fashion you would a sider worm. Slow steady retrieve.
