Lake Wanahoo is about 20 miles west of Omaha, just north of Wahoo is a nice place to go to. In 2015, we caught several Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, and a few catfish. If you are a boater, the ramps are extra nice and well maintained and are three wide so you do not have to worry quite as much about people clogging the docks. If you fish from the shore, Chalco Hills in west Omaha has some decent hits. Again bass are fairly easy to pull up as are crappie. It is also very family friendly if you need to entertain the wife and kids while you fish. Good luck !

I just moved to Lincoln for grad school and definitely want to check out some of the places around here too.

Branched oak caught a 5 last week. Wagontrain caught a 5 and 4 three weeks ago and a 4 at Holmes a month ago. All off spinners besides the Holmes lake bass. Caught her on a rat-l-trap.

Caught this 3 lber with some kind of fish still in its gullet; this was a public lake between Lincoln and Omaha.
