Fishing Okeechobee?

Featured Replies

I will be down in Florida March 16th-26th and both me and my uncle will be renting a boat for the day out of Clewiston. Anyone have any good info as to where we might wanna start fishing around there? Really trying to boost my odds on getting a trophy while I am down there.

You should be hiring a guide unless you or your uncle have been on the lake before.

He's been on it a few times, but I am just asking around to get all the info I can.

There are some shallow rock shelves outside of the Clewiston area that can be a problem if you just run around blindly. Be careful if you don't know where your going. Remember it is a big shallow lake with hard sandstone bottom in some areas, especially around Clewiston. Good luck!

If you need a guide let me know. I fished the Big O last week on vacation.

I'm going out there in early April and looking at guides now. If you have any recs let me know.
