Powell Inferno Rods

Featured Replies

After researching, I found that generally people liked Powell endurance rods a lot. Being that their discontinued, I was just wondering what your guys' opinion is on them. Does any one have any experience with them? I'm looking for a spinnerbaits and Texas rig rod and have been looking at an inferno.

Different strokes for different folks, but personally I wouldn't purchase one. I don't care for the guides with no ceramic inserts. Deal breaker for me.

I agree with Hogsticker as well. If you can catch a Max 3D on sale I'd get one of those. They come with Fuji Alconite guides.

I have an Endurance 714 but haven't been able to fish it yet. It's a 7'1" H Rod rated 1/4-1 oz and I'll be using it as my jig rod.

I have a Max 3D and a Inferno, i like the reel seat on the inferno a lot, i can get three fingers on the blank, hopefully the guides hold up, they seem pretty tough, pretty sure they're similar guides to a duckett ghost if not the same guides, but don't quote me on that. I would spend the extra money on a Max 3D but if you can't the inferno is a good choice.

I have a 7'1" mh spinning rod in the Endurance line. It's a beast. Not much in the tip but a lot of backbone for a mh. I stuck an eight lb largie in fairly thick cover and had no problem whatsoever bringing her in. Are they still selling the Endurance line?

No, it has been discontinued along with the Max. They have the Max 3D line now, which is supposedly an upgrade to the Endurance
