Had to upgrade my electronics in any case so, broke down and spent the money to buy my 2nd HB 1199 and as soon as my marine mechanic has time, he will install and 'interlink' the new one on the bow to the existing one by my console.

Old eyes, had to have larger screen just to see the darn things.... LOL

This will be a whole new experience .... the new one will replace a good unit mounted in the bow, HB 598ci Si HD Combo but, being only a 5" screen, these old eyes just can't see what all it's telling me ..

 

If you only have 2 units why did u need the Interlink?

Never mind, I'm thinking of the 5 port.

I'm guessing you got the interlink to use 1 GPS puck?

ah, no sir. I got it to mark spots at the console while looking at structure and hopefully fish, drop offs, etc. and the can shut down the big motor after I get close and use the TM to take me to those exact spots to fish using the new 2nd unit at the bow.

INTERLINK does NOT work with the 1199ci HD SI Combo or any other XX9 models.

It is a discontinued product.

 

ETHERNET is the only intercommunication connection that the XX9 models can use and your other unit would have to be Ethernet compatable.

Then the other unit's software would have to be current before they will communicate.

The 1199ci HD SI Combo would need the Ethernet adaptor AS EC QDE to have the Ethernet cable connection.

No, I probably did not explain this clearly enough. The 598si CI HD will be removed and I will be offering it for sale.

The now 2, 1199 units will be connected. I was told that I only needed the ethernet cable, which is what I bought.  One at the console and one on a deck mount by the foot control pedal for the TM. Great product I found to 'deck mount' my unit from Precision Sonar !!

You will need two Ethernet adapters plus the Ethernet cable.

The adapters are. AS EC QDE

Good choice on the deck mount.
