Changing Depthfinders

Featured Replies

So i have 2 depthfinders i have a humminbird 698hdsi infront of boat with transducer on TM. At steering wheel i have stock Lowrance elite 3x. I wanted to upgrade the lowrance. If i dont get a side imaging depthfinder do i have to replace transducer also? I was thinking of just getting a 5" depthfinder. Will humminbird work on lowrance transducer?

You would want the most updated, matching ducer for the new unit anyway.

Yes you can use the Lowrance transducer with a Humminbird.

But not with a DI unit.

It takes the Humminbird adaptor that is used with Motor Guide trolling motors with a built in transducer.

Check the spec sheet for the one you have and the one you are getting and make sure they are the same frequency, or frequencies if dual band. Also, some will will run multiple bands, beyond what the generic dual band Xducer will support.

Yes, they are the same frequency tuned. 83/200 kHz

It will not support a Humminbird Down Imaging unit or Side Imaging unit so in the Humminbird 600 series it would be the 688ci HD Combo or the 678c HD.

For the Helix 5 series it would be either the Helix 5 Sonar or Helix 5 Sonar GPS
