What dremel tool should I get?

Featured Replies

What kind of dremel tool should I get for making lures? One thing to consider is right now I don't have a power drill and I need something to drill a whole in lead with the diameter of 3/32". Will a dremel be fine for that task?

Thanks

Thanks, sounds good.

Buy an actual name brand Dremmel. I buy a lot of tools from harbor freight and I love most of them. However some tools you just have to buy quality and a Dremmel is one of them. I tried to go cheap and I litteraly went through 3 different cheapo rotery tools in about 1- 1 1/2 years. now I have an actual dremmel and it has lasted for about 3 years and it work as good as new

X2  Also IMHO dremel's (w/ wand) are great for certain tasks but I find them mainly a pain in the butt. I'm not sure how much experience you have with a dremel but you may find that a lot of your work is easier and better accomplished by hand. Rasps, sand-paper, hand drills, and hand scroll saws give me FAR more control over my piece. And you could buy all of the those tools and more for less money. Just my 2 cents. Have fun

The brand named Dremel has helped shape products since they first came out, reliable and strong.  Duct tape just keeps everything going longer, lol.  Either way,...both are a must in the house.

caution.  these are addictive, the more adapters and bits and accessories you buy,...the wider the scope of things you can butcher build
