I am probably going to get an elite 5 HDI in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone on here had any first hand experience with one?

They are great units, all the elite HDI units do the same just screen size changes unless you get a x unit which is only sonar. The 5 is an all round great size.

I got an elite 5 during the winter, I've only used it a few times so far, but it is great. I have an Elite 4x as well, I got the 5 because I wanted one with GPS and a bigger screen. Mine came with a coastal map card, I need to get one for the lakes around me.

I'm looking at this one too, as well as the Chirp. The HDI is less than $400 with a transducer on Amazon right now.

Elite 5 Hdi is 299.99 at academy.  Plan to pick one up in the next couple weeks.
