Just purchased this reel. When I took it out the box and attached the handle I notice a clicking sound when I reeled. I tightened the handle and it stopped. Today when out on the water I would make a long cast the clicking would resume. To stop it all I had to do is push the spool down or re-tighten the handle. So my question is is something just loose or do I need to return the reel.

Having to re-tighten the handle after a long cast to stop abnormal clicking is just that reel's way of saying "Exchange me."  

Return it now, is my advice
