What To Finsh?

Featured Replies

I've been painting crankbaits on and off for about a year now. I'm having trouble finding something to finsh my crankbaits with. I've tried 2 part epoxy and some sort of clear coat finsh dakotalakestackle off youtube uses. Haven't been the finsh i'm looking for and its a little messy. Anyone have anything else you want recommend?

I Know You Said 2 Part Epoxy Above , Give This A Try , Devcon 2 Part 30 Min Epoxy "Clear" , It's Really Easy To Use , I Posted A Bait "New Gill Color" In Tackle Making , That Bait Is Cleared With Devcon.

Let Me Find The Write Up On How To Use It and I'll Post For All To See.

Awesome willing to try anything. I think in the past ive used 5 min epoxy. May be my problem.

Ive been using kbs diamond clear to finish my lures and I like it so far. you can spray it on or brush it on, and its non-yellowing.. Its way more expensive than using devcon though and probably not as tough but I personally like it more because I can just spray and forget.

The 5 Min Epoxy You Were Using Was The Wrong One , It Didn't Give You Enough Time To Coat Your Bait.  As You Were Mixing It , It was Starting To Set On You.

Yes 30 min. epoxy is the only way to go.  I buy an off brand at Hobby Lobby for $10 (usually with a 40% coupon) that helps bring the cost way down per lure.

I've also found super micro glitter in very small quantities bring paint to life.
