In florida. I have a 766 flip that I bought more for flipping to wood and haven't tried it in the florida grass. How do u guys that have used it for this think it held up to heavy punching? I have a more suitable Rod specific for punching but trying to simplify my Rod selection for tournaments. Is it outmatched in the grass? Remember... Florida grass

I know that it will.  Our grass here is rather heavy.  Brett Hite has won in Florida and won on our Delta.  He has said they fish similarly as far as grass and "cover" including tules or buggy-whips.  The 766 will do it's job hooking a fish, and being able to get it out of wherever you can put a 3/4-2oz weight.  Without being rude to anyone, if you're not able to get a fish out of something this would be a situation where it is not the rod's fault.  Have full confidence, even the big Florida fish will be under control in heavy Florida grass. 

I wasn't asking because I couldn't get fish out just asking if the Rod had the capabilities. I appreciate the response

Having punched grass, watched it from the comfort of my home as well, it seems if the fish is that deep in the grass, then they go in after it.  Fish rarely fight if you have them coved in grass.  They just kinda lay there until you uncover them, the all hell breaks loose!  If it's freeing them from reeds/buggywhips, then as long as you have him coming towards you then you have the battle half way won as long as you keep them coming your direction.
