Mag Divers

Featured Replies

Here are a couple of Mag divers. Top bait is made from white cedar is 7 inches long and weighes 1.5oz. Painted in my version of threadfin shad.

Bottom bait is wester red cedar, 6 inches long and weighes 1.125oz

I'm trying a new lip design on this one.

You can say what you want about the lengths but until I see something there for reference I wont believe it. You after all are also a fisherman ;D

Marty is pretty fearless when it comes to experimenting with these big Mags.

Look at the teeny little DD22 cowering on the right... :o

Holy cow, how deep of water do you plan on fishing? Haha. Nice baits.

Ha ha awesome

WOW, that is a couple large chunks of cedar there Marty, those are beautiful.

Marty is one of the few builders that understand just what it takes to get deep. If you want a floating 3/8oz. 2" bait to get 20' it just won't happen.

Thanks guys, those batis are a lot of work both carving/sanding and getting the bait balanced.   If one little thing is off the bait will not tune correctly.

John, keep an eye out because I'm going to make a 2.25 inch bait that will hit real close to 20 feet.

I deep crank up to 25'.   :o

I haven't cranked deeper than 15'. The bills on those baits are huge.

15 feet??  Your fish must have a sunburn being so shallow.    8-)

Down here, shallows the only way to fish. Thats as deep as it gets.
