BigM how do you make and install your linetie in long bill divers. I'm new to the lure makin' fun  ;D  > I came by a piece of red cedar post and cut it down and made some swim & top water baits, now I'd like to try some divers, any advice will help.  

I make my line ties in two different ways.   I use 2 inch x 1/16 inch stainless steel cotter pins or 20ga stainless wire.    

Measure the lip length from the nose of the bait, mark the halfway point, at that point find the center.   Drill a 1/16 inch hole and the cotter pin will fit nice and snug in that hole.  

If the line tie is off center the least little bit, then the bait will not run true.
