Fresh paint on some M-cranks

Featured Replies

Here are some of my paint jobs on an awesome variety of Marty's baits. I've yet to get to his level of creativity or quality but man is it fun to paint cranks, almost as much as fishing them. Marty builds very high quality baits, but his generosity is by far his best quality. Hope ya'll like. David

I think they look  great. What are those scales on that second one?

Hey Thad, That is green first then I mixed some blue mica hi-lite in some clear and shot over it. So it has a color shift from green to blue. The 3rd one also has blue hi-lite over black. Glad you like. David

You are getting better with the airbrush, all of the baits look great.

my mistake buzzcathcer. I meant the 4th one, the images weren't finished loading when I asked the question.

Never mind, haha. I thought those scales looked familiar. I bought that scale tape a long time ago. I found it just now. I might have to give it a try, it looks good on yours.

David,

You have got some fine skills with the brush. The craw pattern is my favorite. Something 'bout a craw pattern that just drives the smallies crazy.

Thanks for the comps. Eric, that craw was the hardest one yet, I leafed it with mixed gold, copper and varigated leaf crumbs, cleared it an then shot transparent red on top sides, flo-orange on throat, flo-yellow on belly and a burgandy mix on back. Can't wait to throw it this spring. Thanks, David

The last one resembles the lucky craft color "bull bream"  ;) It as alot more dots on it, which i like  ;D nice jog

I love that craw pattern, it should be the bomb when it comes to fishing for smallies.  I also really like the last two.  You have some talent!
