Fishing Nj

Featured Replies

Anyone know good ponds in ocean county, NJ? Would help since im trying to get into bass fishing more

Ocean Acres (Manahawkin).  I'm not sure of the lakes name.  I had a former club member that fished it a lot with real good results.

How about the Atlantic Ocean.. stripers

Exactly where in Ocean County are you looking?

I lived in Tuckerton for many years and worked in Lakewood. There are a few good ponds there, at least they were good a few years ago. Actually, I did better pond/bank fishing in Ocean County than I do in Carbon County PA. I assume you are bank fishing?

There are some catfish in that lake also.

Are you talking about the lake on the golf course in Manahawkin? If so, it's tough to get a boat in there now. The one access spot I know as a load of loose sand recently dumped I believe. I was thinking about launching on the park side of the lake. I would have to lift over a small 2 ft high fence to do that. Not impossible. I went there with my bro in law a couple of years back and did well

Yep.  That is the one.

That is holiday lake. My Grandma lives right off the ocean acres country club. I have have fished there since I was a kid when I would visit.I am about to head down there next week and hope to do some bass fishing. I gotta find some other spots though because you are limited at that lake. And this time of year you will have people swimming there ect..so you could be to limited to do much. I think they are pretty strict on boats there. I spoke to a guy who lives there early in the spring who said he goes on there with a little boat and has his best luck on the other side of the bridge. Figures because a boat is the only way you could access it without having the golfers start aiming their drives at you.lol

It's not that bad to cross the area

where the golfers have to shoot over the water. Its a par 3, so after a foursome tees off you have plenty of time to cross before the next foursome is up at the tee.
