Super Lines?

Featured Replies

What makes a super line a super line? What are some examples if super lines... Just wanting to get educated on this topic.

My only knowledge is that all braided lines are referred to as "superlines".  Take a look at all the braided lines that are offered at TW to get an idea how popular they are.  Braid has zero stretch and has a much smaller diameter than an equivalent line weight in mono, fluoro or co-polymer.  40# braid is normally equivalent to 12# mono.

They are superlines because of the advanced manufacturing processes (usually multiple woven or bonded strands) required and advanced "super" attributes usually a greater strength to diameter ratio and very little stretch.

Gone are the days when mono rules.. couldnt even imagine how I fished with mono only..
