Hey Guys, I have an all electric 16' fiber glass jon boat that i bought used a little over 6 months ago. (The reservoirs i fish at are electric only) Its been a long journey getting it water ready but, it finally floats. I'm looking into getting it wired properly (I have minimal experience). I'd love to hear your advice on which products to buy as well as, installation how to's. an affordable led lighting system, for those early mornings. A switch panel to cut on and off my led's, my bilge pump, and if possible; cut on and off my 2 transom mounted 55# electric motors. I wont need to adjust the speed on them, i only use them for "speed". Alright, Whatcha got for me?

You can not run an electric tolling motor thru a switch/fuse panel. It draws way to many amps.

You could use the switch to trigger a properly rated (amps)relay that would turn the motor on. Maybe one the truck guys use for those crazy bright off road lights

I can help you with the transom trolling motor control.

Get a couple of continuous duty coil solenoids ( like used on ATV's for the winch lockout) one for each motor. Use them on the trolling motor positive side. Control them with a Big Foot switch with that circuit parallel with the two solenoid control connections. Push the Big Foot switch to energize both solenoids.

That is what I did before I found out that two 55# trolling motors is not 110# of thrust. Trolling motor thrust is based on motor RPM's. I sold both 12V 55# thrust motors and replaced them with a single 24V 80# thrust transom motor and got more speed. The 80# thrust motor uses the exact same prop as the 55# motors.

I have my boat setup for HP restricted waters and electric-only waters. This is my original setup before the hull got wet the first time.

Thanks a lot you guys. I need all the help I can get. Are there any wiring/switch panel kits that you would recommend?
