Father's Day Weekend Fishing Begins!

Featured Replies

Happy Father's Day, fellas. We decided to beat the weekend rush and got out this morning. My dad is still skunked, but I picked up a few including this 18 incher. Looking forward to getting back out tomorrow.

No one else on the water with their dads/kids this weekend?

Taking dad out for trout and smallies tomorrow. UL rods and small lures, just like when he taught me to fish. Forecast of rain, but we'll still have fun.

Nice! That sounds like you have a solid day planned. Hopefully the weather holds up for you up there.

We hit up a second lake yesterday and picked up a few bass and my dad caught a dinner sized walleye.

Nice job on the walleye, they are a blast. We ended up catching a variety of small fish, including rainbow trout, creek chub and sucker. The rain just held off, and we had a blast.

Caught this nice bass that went 6lbs 2 oz along with 2 others over 4 lbs at a small public lake in SW Michigan . 5 best went about 20 lbs which is my best day at this particular lake .

Congrats! Those are great days on the water.

I wish I put together a limit either day, but no such luck. We didn't have any electronics over the weekend. Friday we fished a lake I'd never been on before and Saturday was a lake that's produced big fish, but is really tricky to fish. Here are the pics from Saturday.

The bass was 19" and just under 4lbs and the walleye was 17".

Thanks! The quantity wasn't there, but I can't complain about quality. After finding the active bass, I should have picked the areas apart better.

Managed to find fish, most important was the quality time you two got. Can't get any better than that
