Can standard Flex-Coat be used under Ultra V?

Featured Replies

Can non-Ultra-V flex coat be used under Ultra-V without yellowing? I still have a couple bottles of regular flex-coat and I don't really have anything else to use it for (except sealer, and I already have tons of that).

Thanks in advance,

Ben

I've never tried painting over flex coat, I use the rod building epoxy over my sealer and that works very well.   Just give it a try on a couple of baits and see how it works.    If you are painting wood baits and the stuff doesn't work just hit with a torch for a couple of seconds and it peels off back to the wood.

Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner.

I wasn't too clear in my original post. What I meant was, can I put on a couple coats of normal Flex-Coat over the paint and then cover that with Ultra V? And will that keep it from turning yellow?

Thanks,

Ben

I think that would work.   The uv stuff in the ultra v should provide protection, inho.
