Airbrush Paints? Brands and where?

Featured Replies

I currently use badger createx paints (airbrush ready)but its only because I can pick it up locally. I am looking for web sites, part numbers or color Id's since I have been looking for a few days now and am soooooo confused by all the choices in paints and traits of them not to mention sites to get them from.

Thanks

Gary

Auto-Air colors are what I use consistently. I order them from Bear Air. They have a page that tells you the difference between opaque, pearlescent, etc. Hope this helps

thank you I will check it out.

Createx, Auto-Air, and Wildlife Colors are the standard paints.  The House of Color pre-mixed airbrush paints shoot better than anything I have used out of my airbrush...by a long shot, but they are enamels...not water based.  They are super thin and dry instantly, but cleaning your brush between colors isn't as easy as with a water based paint.

Yeah the enamel part I did figure out long ago :o.  So the Badger brands are just fine to use? I wasn't sure if they were. I have been using them for my rc bodies for a long time and figure Ill try to start painting some lures. The createx and faskolor do say for wood also and I know the fascolor holds up pretty well with just a spray on sealer. Just going to be a little weird painting in the reverse of what im used to but in a few weeks I may actually make something worthwhile.  :)
