Hey guys, I'm relatively new to fishing. I've fished very casually for a couple years, but I'm starting to get more serious. I'm looking to mostly fish bass/blues topwater in CT/RI. Friend of mine recommended the setup I'm asking about, but I have a question.

Saltwater. From a boat. Any recommendations for that rod and that reel in terms of model/size? Thanks

 

Friend said to use 15lb mono, so would I need the 6500 model reel or is that too big?
