Looking For Good Smallmouth Action In Northern Indiana Or Southern Michigan

Featured Replies

Hello there, Jordan from Mishawaka/South Bend Indiana here.  Brand new to the forum as of today.  This year I have been getting much more into fishing and I have developed a love for smallmouth.  Brought a couple kayaks on a business trip to North Dakota and targeted Smallmouth on some lakes along the route.  Tons of fun to catch and beautiful fish.  I've floated the St Joseph River from Bristol to Elkhart and had limited success but caught all largemouth.

Which leads me to my question....

Can someone shed some light on some good spots for smallmouth fishing around Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan?  I almost exclusively use a kayak to do most of my fishing, so I prefer smaller lakes, ponds, creeks, and rivers.  I'm open to any suggestions though!

So far from my brief research it appears Tippecanoe and Yellow River(s) seem to fit the bill.

I'll take any help I can get though!

Thanks alot!
