How Much Psi For Prop Nut?

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I have a 2000 Mercury 115hp outboard with aluminum prop. What is the correct psi for the prop nut?

Hmmm...  on a Mercury engine?  I think that should be "inHg" instead of PSI...   ;-)

I think you're really looking for the foot-pounds of torque to tighten the prop to.  I think the standard Mercury spec is 55 foot-pounds, but I'm not positive.

Tight lines,

Bob
