Northeast Oklahoma Bank Fishing

Featured Replies

I'm a recent transplant to the Bartlesville, OK area and am wondering if anybody can recommend any good bank fishing places within an hour or so drive. Obviously I don't have a boat, so beating the banks is my life.

Thanks in advance!

I have heard the strip mine pits can be good, but I have never fished them. Farm ponds usually make excellent fishing spots just be sure to get the owners permission. The ODWC has lists of urban fishing ponds, quite a few in Tulsa in the old flood plains, they were built in the late 80s & early 90s to help control flooding, I haven't fished them in years though. The outdoor ponds at Bass Pro hold some nice size fish too.

I have a two person bass boat that has never been on the water as of yet, reason is health problems and not allowed to drive anymore. I am in the Norman area, I would rather fish small bodies of water than large bodies of water. I want to try and fish from a kayak, who wants to go kayak fishing with me when I get a kayak.
