Bb1 Vs Bb1 Pro

Featured Replies

Another this vs that thread. Searched and couldnt find anything. Just got a new deep crank rod, and wonder which reel would be better for deep divers? Mostly 6xds, would be 5.1 ratio.

that's up to your preference , some people like low gear ratios , some people like high gear ratios . my preference is in the middle , i like a 6.4:1 gear ratio which allows you to go slow but also burn the bait fast . unless your throwing deep diving baits (20-25+) you should be fine with any gear ratio . people choose low gear ratio for ease of very resistant baits .

btw, the BB1 pro is a reel i'm gonna get soon , can't wait !!! also gonna get the BB2 pro wide spool for my swimbait rod !!  :eyebrows:

I have used both and I like the regular BB1 better but I'm probably in the minority. BTW, American Legacy Fishing has the BB1 Pro on sale for $130 I believe.

I fish with a bb1 on my deep cranking rod and when I was researching this same thing last year I thought the pro had a shallower spool for braided line. I could be mistaken but that's what I remember.

they both have the same line capacity - 12/160

Pro has external braking, carbon fiber handle, click drag and spool tension..etc.

the difference is well worth the $50 price :eyebrows:

i would of spent the $50 alone with adding the 95mm carbon fiber handle !
