Unique Pedestal Base Needed

Featured Replies

Recently rebuilt my 89 Kingsisher 19ft, carpet, every screw cable and wire.  Was fun, (NOT) any way the base for the rear Pedestal measures 2x6 inches.  I could go longer like 2x7 or even more.  It is placed in a space that wont allow me to go with the standard 7x7 it has and extension that goes down under the deck to the base of the hull in addition to bolting to the deck for support.   I can weld or build a pole so that is not needed but I for the life of me through google, amazon you name it tried to find one with a width of 2 inches but can not find one.  Done anyone have a suggestion of where to look.   The original pole was rotted and the base it self is in good shape but the I can not pop the brass bushing out of it.  I even tried to leave it in coals on the fire pit until the base was yellow and tried to pop it out but it aint budging.   So bottom line does anyone know where i can get a base to mount on the deck that is 2x6 or 2x7  thanks in advance...  It is always that one part that puts a giant halt on finishing up.

I'm sorry if you already thought of this but, would it be possible to cut down a standard base to the size you need?

That is a thought for sure, problem is finding a good machine shop these days.  One with a good Metal Cutting Band Saw would be great but I have googled that as well and cant seem to find one.  I could use my old part if I had 15 minutes time in a good shop.    Been googling that just as much.

You said you could weld so I assumed you had tools like a die grinder that could cut an aluminum or steel plate.

My son has a welder over at his work but that would be the pole that you would not see, I want the base plate that is on the deck to be perfect.  When I redid this boat I replaced everything you could see, carpet, trim, every screw, molding you name it.  It looks like it is new and it is all stainless and every nut is stainless with the plastic inserts.  I did it right.  The last guy had the carpet over the bases so you could see a bump where they are.  I did not like that.
