Penbyrn Lake, South Jersey.

Featured Replies

New to the area found this lake. Fished it a few times not much luck. Any local knowledge would be much appreciated. Bank fishing no boat.

I know a lot of guys that either fish it or have fished the clear waters.  Bank fishing is a waste of time UNLESS the spawn season is in full force.  Drop shot fishing in deep water  will get them for now.

Thanks for the info. Like I said no boat so no deep water for me. I'll try to find another spot. Any suggestions on bank fishing lakes in the area?

never fished it and google maps isn't bringing it up for me.

here's the topo map. i'd stick to the shorelines that have the contour lines stacked close together ie access to deep water.  i'd steer clear of the boat ramp side unless it's spawn

Maybe board member jyu87 can help you.  He used to be a HARDCORE bank guy in that area up until he joined my bass club.

Carnegie and Farrington are my local lakes and have pretty good shore access compared to the other "big" lakes. Also, Lake Manaplan in Monroe is a good option for bank fishing. Best bank fishing like I know of, as its pretty much all shore line, and they stock trout there.
