I ask this because I'm wondering if any of the carvers out there have tried carving a bait from Royal Polonia or "BlueBell" and if so,your thoughts,on using this wood to use for baits.

I use it to make boat paddles.....it's extremely light and tuff.........just wondering if it'd make for good bait stock,too.

If someone would like to try it out ....I have some,I'll ship/mail to ya........free....almost :....would like to have  a bait from it.

I think this is the same stuff I buy as paulownia.  One of my favorite woods for making lightweight crankbaits - it's a great, more durable, substitute for balsa.

I bleed balsa dust and on occassion white cedar.   

Wood!  You guys actually make baits out of that stuff?   I apologize, just could not resist.

I use quite a bit of basswood but have the advantage to be able to cut and cure my own so you can always get good quality. Use some balsa but most of my baits for the last couple years have been made from PVC.
