Did you ever find a club to fish the Coosa with?

I never found a club but a few buddies of mine and their friends are starting a new club. Our first meeting is March 3rd. The name of the club will be Coosa River Bass Club. Right now I think we have around 15 members.

i think we may even have a corporate sponsor that will supply us fishing jerseys. So far the guys that are committed to joining are a great group with no egos and are looking to have a club that everyone can enjoy.

Had our first meeting for the new Coosa River Bass Club. We had 11 members joining up and we will be having our second meeting, March 10th, to elect the directors. More have said will join then.  This will be a club where we fish once a month usually on the chain of lakes on the Coosa River. Neely Henry, Logan Martin, Lay Lake. Plus lakes close by like Wedowee and Weiss.

A full year will have us fishing ten tournaments from February through November. (Year-end banquet in December and voting for the new season in January meetings)

There is a membership fee that covers you for a year, and each tournament cost is $25 with an additional $10 fee if you choose to get into the big bass pot. Pay out right now goes to the top three finishers and a year-end bonus winner for the overall leader in points from all the tournaments. (We may pay out for the top 3 finishers at year end in points, this hasn't been voted on yet, and the next meeting we will do that.)

You won't get rich here, but the fun will make up the difference I'm sure.

If anyone is interested in the club you can post here and I can get back with you. We may have our first tournament in April if we can get all the business side settled.  We are accepting boaters and non-boaters, really people who just love to chase those green fish called bass.
