Featured Replies

Aight so i been waitin for like a week.....and its finnaly here. A 5inch mattlures male blue gill. this thing is nice...REALLY NICE. its so detailed and its everything i thought it would be. so tommorow is the maiden voyage, and i was wondering what type of spots should i foucus on...is there anywhere in particular that swimbaits should be used? i fish in a reservoir...and its not known for huge bass..i know some ppl who have caught 7-8lbers and very few of em...but theres not much bigger.  :;)

I just got mine in yesterday, also very excited!!!!! Sorry couldn't have been anymore help ;)

For your first attempt, I'd choose to throw it where there's 'open' water with no wood to snag your bait.  Just throw it out there, let it free-fall for 3 or 4 seconds(at about 6-8' down) and reel it in slooooooooooooowly.

Good luck!

Dan

My ultimate bluegill tilts a little to the left on a steady moderate retrieve.  I can't seem to get it to run straight.  It's not alot, maybe a 15 degree list to the left.

Is there a way to "tune" these baits?

due to the shape of the bait, its a miracle when they run perfect. try a nail weight postioned on the "up tilted" side of the bait

Very clever Mr. Bizzle with the sizzle.

Any other thoughts?

you can also try to bend the internal harness, but the nail weight will probably work better

I dont recomend bending the harness but nait weights work. I still recomend boiling first to get everthing straight. If you use a treble on the bottom you can embed one of the hooks into the belly. If you hook it slightly off center it can correct the lean. Also certain stiff lines can cause the bait to lean.

I wouldnt listen to that last guys reply, it sounds like he's just making that up... ;) Mine should be comin any day...excellent product Matt!! Cant wait to use it.

Everything looks straight, but I'll boil it a few minutes to see if it helps.

I keep nail weights with me in the tackle box, so I can always go to that fix.

thank's guys.
