Anyone Fish In Mn

Featured Replies

Hey. I know a lot of you don't know me. But dose anyone fish here in MN? Looking for some good lakes to fish. Anyone know any that there willing to share?

Lake Vermilion is a great lake. It is one of the biggest in the state, I would recommend having a boat. Really good walleye and Perch fishing. I have not tried going after bass all that often.

You might want to try the Central Bass Fishing Section of the website: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/13-central-bass-fishing/

There's lost of us Minnesotans on Bass Resource! If you're looking for lake recommendations I'd suggest giving us a general area of the state where you're interested in fishing. Are you local or are you traveling? We have a LOT of great bass lakes in MN so if you could help narrow it down then I'm sure we could help you out.

We also have a thread going in the central bass section of the forum, like Dtree11 mentioned.

If you're fishing out of that kayak, I'd recommend looking for small lakes with lousy boat accesses or relatively inadequate parking (for trucks/trailers). Some of those are relatively untapped by anglers because they're too much of a pain to get the boat into.

These kind of lakes are a dime-a-dozen. Give Google Maps a shot for scouting.

Northern Pike come with the territory in MN.  Tons of great bass lakes around Minnesota.  Vermilion and Mille Lacs have some of the best smallmouth action around.

I'm in St. Cloud too. I also fish Mink/Somers sometimes, though it's declined drastically over the last few seasons. 5-10 years ago, that was the SPOT! Then the word got out...

Yeah. I have got a lot of nice bass from there. I went up north to more of a better place. Not known by hardly anyone. Smallest was a 23 that day. Very nice fish. Lots of fun.

If 23 was the smallest, what was the biggest?

23 would likely be around 7 1/2 lbs.  Those are not easy to come by....
