Dale Hollow

Featured Replies

Anything going yet? Thinking about heading down around thanksgiving, any tips would be greatly appreciated will be my first trip.

I was up there 3 weeks ago, going again Saturday and every weekend from now until January.  First day trip of the year 3 weeks ago, caught 2 on swimbaits, lost 3 others.  Not bad considering the water was still way to warm.  Hoping it cooled off some more by Saturday but my guess is its still too early.  Anyway, Thanksgiving weekend I will be there all weekend too. Throw 1/2-3/4oz football jigs, swimbaits, talispinners, or blade baits.  keep the boat in 30-40' and fish the points, main lake and in the creeks 15-30' deep.  Just keep driving around fishing different type banks until you find which ones have fish.  Make 10-15 casts and move on if you don't get any bites.  It will work all over the lake.

Thanks for the reply. I had plans on fishng big slow tapering points and channel banks when I go, as those are areas fish will be on any lake. If you don't mind keep me updated on the bite.

I would fish any point close to a channel swing even if its just a straight drop at the end of a bluff wall.  Go back into the pockets and look for bait, if there's shad there will be something close by.  I caught 5 Saturday, lost a couple, but had a lot of bites.  It's still early and the water was pretty warm but the fish are moving up regardless.  It will only get better from now until the end of the year.  One thing to remember is the worse the weather is the better the fishing is at Dale.  If its cold, windy, and raining/snowing don't cancel your trip.

Went to lake Cumberland yesterday and blanked. Was huge tournament going and those guys was fishing same stuff I did didn't see no one catch a fish.

Fishing wasn't very good for me at Dale hollow, but we still put a few in the boat.  The ones we caught we're good ones though.
