Orlando Area Tape Grass Suggestions Needed

i am down in the orlando area for the holiday week and have gone out with my brother in law kayak fishing in the private lake for his subdivision. its a pretty good sized lake (20+ acres i think) but it is filled with tape grass. i tried dropping senkos in the pockets with no luck. Only near bite i had was a blowup on my frog in the lily pads on the far end of the lake where the tape grass is not so thick. 

 

Looking for any tips or suggestions for this type water please. It seems to be 8+ft deep but grass near the surface still. Very clear water though.
