when and why would you choose a shakey head over a t-riged worm? or vice versa?

Ive had success on both rigging methods. I personally will go to a shaky setup when the conditions are exceeding tough. I am referring to the last few outings of the season before Ice in, when the water temps are under 45°F even 40°F . When a slow approach is needed to get bite. Likewise in the Spring when its just ice out and you could have a hard time getting bit. Postspawn with a cold front coming through also sounds like an ideal time to use a shaky head rig. When do I use a texas rig? All the time not previously listed. That would be my go to rigging method althought last Fall I gained a huge amount of confidence in using the Shaky rig method.

Post coldfront, Baro. pressure over 30.20 or under 29.80, anytime the bite is tough.

I keep one rod with each rig ready at all times. Sometimes two with a t-rig, one heavier than the other. If you catch a couple in an area with the t-rig, don't leave without tossing the jigworm in there. It's good for another fish as often as not. And vice-versa.
